Emily Pevnick is serving her fourth year on the YLD Board. She is a JCRC Vice Chair and served as Vice President of the Executive Committee (2015-2016). Emily grew up in Louisville, KY where she attended Goldman Union Camp Institute, Jewish Day School, and Alexander Muss High School in Israel. She graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University with a dual degree in Philosophy and Jewish Studies. She has traveled to Israel eight times and spent six months studying Jewish-Catholic relations in Rome, Italy. Emily currently works as the Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships and Global Affairs for Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Before working for the Mayor, Emily spent four years at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee both in Chicago and Washington, D.C. During her time at AIPAC, she was the State Director for Minnesota, Indiana, and Iowa, a National Field Organizer, and the Midwest Deputy Political Director for 89 Congressional Districts. Emily lives with her husband in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, and they belong to Anshe Emet synagogue.
