Zach Fertig is serving his third year on the YLD Board. He grew up in Deerfield, IL, where he attended Solomon Schechter Day School and Deerfield High School. Zach graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 2012 with degrees in Finance & Accounting and was a member of the Hoeft Technology and Management Program. He started his career in investment banking and in October 2013 joined Avant, a rapidly growing lending startup, where he leads the marketing finance team. While in Champaign, Zach co-founded the Illini chapter of TAMID Israel Investment Group and served as president of the American-Israeli Student Coalition. When Zach returned to Chicago, he joined AIPAC's Young Leadership Council and the Illini Hillel Board of Governors. He has participated in both Gesher and LEADS and has served on the JUF Breakthrough Fund Committee. Zach is excited to further his involvement with the YLD Board and strengthen the Chicago young Jewish community.
