Giving help and hope to the most vulnerable in Chicago; demonstrating collective responsibility in Israel and overseas

JUF serves 500,000 Chicagoans of all faiths who are in need and supports humanitarian assistance for Jews in Israel and 70 countries worldwide.

This includes:

  • Hot meals, groceries, shelter, transportation and financial aid for Jews in crisis
  • Medical and dental care for Jews in need
  • Job placement and career counseling
  • Specialized support for seniors
  • Dedicated programs for people with special needs and their caregivers
  • Citizenship services for immigrants
  • Screening for Jewish genetic disorders
  • Job training, housing and Hebrew classes for new immigrants to Israel
  • Academic and vocational enrichment programs for disadvantaged Israelis
  • Hot meals, groceries, heating fuel and medicine for needy Jews overseas
  • Nonsectarian global humanitarian aid
