Caring for Vulnerable in Israel & Overseas

  • Each year, JUF agencies provide wide-ranging assistance to the nearly 20,000 Jews from around the world who begin new lives in Israel.
  • In Israel, JUF agencies provide educational enrichment to 21,000 promising students from disadvantaged families, fast-tracking them for careers in high-tech and industry.
  • JUF and our sister federations have provided nearly $10 million in direct aid over the last decade to 3,500 Israeli families who have survived terror attacks or lost a loved one.
  • JUF provides 177,000 Jewish seniors in the countries of the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe with food, medicine, home care and winter heating supplies.
  • In these same countries, JUF agencies provide 32,000 impoverished children with food, medicine, nutritional supplements and other necessities.
