AUDIO: An Evening with Etgar Keret
Israeli writer Etgar Keret, well-known throughout Israel
and the world for his short stories, graphic novels and scriptwriting
for film and television, visited Chicago Aug. 26 for an evening at the
School of the Art Institute. Listen as Keret reads a selection of his
short stories followed by an informal conversation about his work with
Rachel S. Harris, Assistant Professor of Hebrew Literature and Israeli
Cultural Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Keret
was in Chicago as part of a visiting writers' program at the University
of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, supported in part through the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Chicago's Israel Studies Project. The event
was co-sponsored by the Writing Program of the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago, the Program in Jewish Culture and Society at the
University of Illinois, the Jewish Federation Israel Studies Project and
the American Associates of Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
