Even in an era with thousands of movies, books, museum exhibits and mandatory school programs on the topic, millions of Americans know nearly nothing about the Holocaust. Many say it doesn’t have anything to do with them.
Three guests, drawing on very different perspectives, are featured. Miri Ben-Ari is a Grammy Award winner known worldwide as The Hip Hop Violinist, but she also is passionate about raising awareness of the Holocaust among young people. Audrey Cantor, who heads Holocaust Community Services, deals daily with the still-lingering issues faced by hundreds of Chicago-area survivors. And Michael Kotzin, of the Jewish Federation, sees connections – and differences – between global anti-Semitism today and during the Holocaust era.
Deborah Palmer Herst hosts this episode.
