CHICAGO -- As millions of kids pack their duffels and head off to camp, some are gearing up for a particularly Jewish experience. The public affairs program "Sanctuary" takes a look at what makes a summer camp Jewish and how that's different from all other camps. The show aired at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 3, on ABC7-Channel7. Joining host Jerry Kaye, who also is the director of the Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute camp, are Lori Stark, of Ramah Day Camp; Stefan Teodosic of B'nai B'rith Beber Camp; and Rabbi Nina Mizrahi of the JCC Chicago Pritzker Center for Jewish Education. There also will be segments with camping alumni Rabbi Michael and Jody Weinberg, and Leora Balinsky. "Sanctuary" is a joint production of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and the Chicago Board of Rabbis, in cooperation with ABC7-Channel 7.
