Paul Wieder Interviews Hankus Netsky

Hankus Netsky is one of the most renowned figures in klezmer music. He is the founder of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, which has accompanied everyone from Itzhak Perlman to Robin Williams. A klezmer scholar as well, he has taught this music on the college level and has written widely on the subject. His stage program, "Song of Second Avenue: Yiddish Theatre's Enduring Musical Legacy," comes to the  Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts  in Milwaukee on October 24; Netsky and his ensemble Hebrew National Salvage will be joined by Lorin Sklamberg of the Klezmatics and Broadway's Joanne Borts.
