A great time to be a Jew

“I wish one could hammer home the optimism that I think is truly justified, both about the American Jewish situation, the world Jewish situation, and about Conservative Judaism in particular,” says Prof. Arnold M. Eisen, chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary, in conversation with Aaron B. Cohen. “This precious aspect of Judaism—that we are not just here for today, that we are bearing a heritage from a long time ago into the future—this is a great attraction to people if it’s presented to them in a form that’s alive, not threatening, and doesn’t call on them to leave the wider world behind.”
