Sanctuary: A Chaplain’s Perspective on the High Holidays

Some central themes of the upcoming Jewish High Holidays – life, death, repentance and fate – can take on special meaning for the sick, the elderly and the dying. On this episode of the public affairs program “Sanctuary,” three chaplains who counsel many of those individuals discuss their role and the responses they receive as they relate the dominant message of “who shall live and who shall die” and other concepts of the Days of Awe. Guests include: Rabbi Joseph Ozarowski, of the Jewish Healing Network of Chicago, Rabbi Suzanne Griffel, of the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center, Rabbi Michael Schorin, of CJE SeniorLife and hosted by Aaron Cohen, Executive Editor of JUF News
