Jewish, Christian, and Muslim musical performers will share the stage for Sounds of Faith, the 12th Annual Dr. Arnold H. Kaplan Concert. The event will be held at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago on Sunday, April 6, from 3-5p.m.
Subtitled "Echoes of a Living Tradition," the concert is headlined by Anshe Emet's Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi and Dr. Shakeela Hassan, founder of Harran Productions Foundation. Harran was founded in 2006 to provide a framework to unite diverse communities of faith and cultural traditions.
Performing will be soloists, choirs, and emsembles from many traditions: Amro Hosni Helmy, Schola Antiqua of Chicago, Cantor Aviva Katzman, Dexter Walker and the Zion Movement, Hakan Berberoglu, The Islamic Foundation Children's Choir, Rev. Fr. Apostolos Georgiafentis, the Beth Shalom B'nai Zaken Ethoipian Hebrew Congregation-and muezzins (person who calls people to prayer at a mosque) and shofar blowers.
