Save the date: Chicago is going to Israel’s party

Mark your calendar: Hundreds of your neighbors and friends are heading to Israel for its 65th anniversary next spring. And you can join them.

The Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago has just announced an Israel @ 65 mission that is expected to be its largest such trip in years. The April 10-17 journey will span not only the sites of the Jewish state, but also many special experiences, including commemoration of Yom Hazikaron, Israel's Memorial Day, and a full-blown celebration of Yom Haatzmaut, Israel's 65th Independence Day.

"Follow us to Israel and see the beautiful landscape and be with the people," said Ellen Steinberg, of Highland Park, who is co-chairing the mission with her husband, Michael. "If you've never been to Israel," Michael added, "this is a good time to go. If you have been to Israel, it's a good time to return."

More details are available at JUF's special Israel @ 65 mission hotline, 312-357-6260, or from Israel65@juf.org.
