Economic Forecast -- Tuesday, January 20th

The Real Estate & Building Trades Division and the Young Real Estate Group (YREG) of the Jewish United Fund will host an Economic Forecast on Tuesday, January 20th, featuring guest speaker Diane Swonk, Senior Managing Director and Chief Economist at Mesirow Financial.  The event will be held at the James Hotel, 55 E. Chicago Jewish Entrepreneurs Educational Forum -- January 27th 

The Chicago Jewish Entrepreneurs Educational Forum (CJEF) is holding its second Educational Forum featuring guest speaker Michael Abt, President of the ABT Electronics and Appliances.  The event will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at 5:30 p.m. at ATB Electronics, 1200 N. Milwaukee Ave., Glenview, IL 60025.  This event is reserved for members and prospective members of CJEF only.

Young Entrepreneurs Group Hosts First Happy Hour
Happy Hour

The Young Entrepreneurs Group of the CJEF will host its first Happy Hour on Wednesday, February 25th at La Madia, 59 W. Grand Ave., Chicago, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  The Young Entrepreneurs Group gives grad students, young professionals, and others in the Jewish community with business ideas that they want to develop an opportunity to meet with other like-minded entrepreneurs on a regular basis.  This new group is designed as a prelude into CJEF.  To RSVP for the Happy Hour contact Robyn Gottlieb at (312) 357-4961.

Calling All Jewish Human Resources Professionals

The newly formed TIP HR group allows Jewish HR Professionals to have a relevant special interest group within JUF while providing an opportunity to give back to the community.  Over the next month, our committee will begin creating and building our membership list as well as planning for specific events, including the kickoff event March 19th and an annual dinner.

Please help us recruit additional members!  If you know of any other Jewish HR Professionals that may have interest in being part of this unique opportunity, feel free to share this information with them.  Our committee is currently in the process of compiling a list of members.

Save the date for the HR Division's Kickoff Event!  The event will take place on Thursday, March 19th, featuring guest speaker Ed Gubman, author of The Talent Solution.  Registration and networking will take place from 5:00-5:45 p.m.  The presentation, The Future of Work, will take place from 5:45-7:00 p.m.  The event will be held at the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, Ben Gurion Way, 30 S. Jewish Professional Women's Forum

The Jewish Professional Women's Forum (JPWF), now in its second year, offers professional women new ways to get involved with JUF.  Save the date for JPWF's next event on the state of our financial markets, featuring Diane Joseph of Dearborn Partners, Phyllis Tabachnick of Bear Sterns, and Deborah Zaluda of Wertheimer & Zaluda, P.C.  The event will take place on Tuesday, March 24th at 12:00 p.m. at the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation.
