Eligibility Requirements

A child may qualify for either the Gift Voucher or the Gift of Family Learning

Gift Voucher Eligibility Guidelines

  • Three by September 1st at the beginning of the school year
  • Family identifies as Jewish
  • Enrolls in a Jewish early childhood program that is affiliated with the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, Associated Talmud Torahs, Community Foundation for Jewish Education or the Board of Jewish Education.
  • Enrolls in a Jewish early childhood program that meets 3, 4 or 5 days per week. The child may be attending half day, full day, or extended day
  • Enrolls in a Jewish early childhood program for the first time. Children who have attended an early childhood program previously with Jewish content, without a parent or caregiver, do not qualify for this program.
  • The first child in a family to attend a Jewish pre-school. Since the goal of the program is to encourage new families to choose a Jewish early childhood program, if a sibling has already attended a Jewish preschool, the child is not eligible.

Gift of Family Learning Eligibility Guidelines for The PJ Library

  • Three by September 1st at the beginning of the school year
  • Family must identify as Jewish.
  • Enrolls in a Jewish preschool that is affiliated with the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, Associated Talmud Torahs, Community Foundation for Jewish Education or the Board of Jewish Education and the preschool has agreed to participate in JUF Right Start.
  • Enrolls in a Jewish early childhood program that meets 3,4,or5 days a week, either half day, full day, or extended day.
  • The child or his/her sibling has already been enrolled in a Jewish early childhood program prior to this coming year.
