Hebrew language programs are an excellent way to keep Jewish high school students connected to their Jewish community and build strong, positive identities. Many students spend time in Israel throughout high school and college years; it is a great service to provide them the tools they need to feel comfortable speaking Hebrew during their travel to Israel. Foreign language programs in the schools are very competitive and this year the participation in Hebrew language classes is decreasing rapidly. It is important to maintain the enrollment in these classes in order to keep the programs in the schools. Because of this, your immediate support is necessary. To learn how you can help keep the Hebrew language programs alive in schools and recruit potential students, please contact Yaffa Berman, Director Department of Hebrew Language Education at the Community Foundation for Jewish Education at 847-410-3900 x30 or email yberman@cfje.org.
