Love Israel? See What You've Been Missing

"Before KOLOT I really didn’t know much about philanthropy at all. The whole aspect of grant-making and allocating money was new to me. On the trip to Israel I learned more about Israel’s needs and Israeli’s opinions more so than my other Israel trips. Philanthropy is not just tzedakah; it’s more than that. We personalized our passion into helping Israel".
Deerfield High School Senior

The Buzz on Youth Philanthropy

What would you do with $25,000? What kind of difference would you make? VOICES and KOLOT are hands-on youth philanthropy programs that give teens the opportunity to allocate at least $25,000 to important causes and make an impact on the world today. These programs invite you to combine tzedakah and tikkun olam in an exciting new way.

The field of youth philanthropy is growing. Read more about the impact Chicago teens are making on the world today.

JUF Book Buddies

Do you enjoy working with young children and their families? Do you need community service hours? JUF Book Buddies is a fun, free family activity for children 0-5 and their families, offered monthly from September-April, in Vernon Hills, Schaumburg and Naperville.

Families participate in arts and crafts, story time and songs centered on a Jewish holiday or theme. Due to the large number of families that come to our Vernon Hills location, we need volunteers to help the families with the arts and crafts activities, as well as set up and clean up.

We are looking for 3-4 volunteers for our Vernon Hills program at the Barnes and Noble in the Hawthorn/Westfield Mall beginning on Sunday, September 13, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon. To volunteer for September or future programs, please contact RonnaLeibach@juf.org or call 312-444-2812.
