Aaron Himelstein
Even when Aaron was in small parts, they were in hit movies. Just in 2000, he was “Boy in Park” in John Cusack’s hit High Fidelity (with a great, goofy performance by Jack Black). Two years later, he played Young Austin Powers in Goldmember with Seth Green. Well, eight years later, he is no longer a boy, and he is hitting them way out of the park!
We’re looking forward to seeing him in a movie called Assassination of a High School President. Don’t worry, it’s a comedy! Zoe Kravitz and Michael Rapaport are in it, too. It’s about a case of stolen SATs, and Aaron better find them or he’ll hear from the principal, Bruce Willis!
Aaron was in another high school movie, The Beautiful Ordinary, about being in school on the last day of the millennium. And Fault Line, about being young and aimless in L.A., co-stars Jewish up-and-comer Dov Tiefenbach (a fault line is the line in the earth where earthquakes happen, and one runs right through L.A.! You may have heard of it: The San Andreas Fault.)
And he was in Fast Food Nation, a movie based on a book about where fast food really comes from. It’s somewhere between a comedy… and a horror movie! He's also in two movies with similar titles but have nothing else in common. One is called The Informers, and the other is called The Assistants.
But you also might know him from the TV show Joan of Arcadia. The original Joan of Arc from history said she could hear God talking to her. In this show, a girl named Joan from the California town of Arcadia (a real place) has God— disguised as different strangers she meets— talking to her. We know what you ask God for, but we’re pretty sure what Joan hears is more significant than answers to a math test! Mageina Tovah was in that show, but not as Joan.
Aaron’s other shows are set all over the map! He’s been everywhere from the North Shore to Las Vegas... to Boston Public with William Shatner! He was also on House, with Lisa Edelstein, and Cupid, in which Jeremy Piven plays the god of love. (He doesn’t get wings, but then he doesn’t have to wear a diaper, either.)
Speaking of Jeremy, his parents run an acting school in Evanston, and that’s where Aaron studied! The other place he studied was at home, by which we mean he was home-schooled.
