The Young Women's City (YWC) Council of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago empowers, inspires and engages city women to make a positive impact on the Jewish community in Chicago and abroad. As part of JUF, we create opportunities to connect through learning and mitzvot.

Pillars

Leadership Development

Focus on Gateways (formerly FLEX) programs and other leadership development projects. The Goal of Gateways is to educate and inform you about the agencies and programs that JUF supports in the city of Chicago. It educates you on what JUF does every day on the front lines and enables you to meet recipients of JUF agencies as well as JUF employees/volunteers.

Mitzvah Opportunities

In conjunction with JUF's Tikkun Olam Network (TOV), coordinate special volunteer opportunities for groups of women are offered throughout the year. View the current mitzvah opportunities.

Outreach

  • Assist with the coordination of Fall and Spring Insights along with the Event Committee.
  • The Spring event is tentatively scheduled for either the evening of Tuesday, May 1 OR Wednesday, May 23. Contact YWCcouncil@juf.org if you would like to serve on the committee.

Tzedakah

  • Help plan Tzedakah events and education programs.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish United Fund - Israel Emergency Fund. Donate online or call 312-357-4803.
