Mission

Our mission is to create and build a vibrant Jewish women’s community in the city of Chicago.  Representing the Jewish United Fund, we offer educational and outreach programs, mitzvot opportunities and tzedakah events.

Young Women’s City Council (YWC) Pillars

Community Development

Assist with the coordination of Fall and Spring Insights along with the Event Committee.

Leadership Development

Focus on Gateways (formerly FLEX) programs and other leadership development projects.  The Goal of Gateways is to educate and inform you about the agencies and programs that JUF supports in the city of Chicago.   It educates you on what JUF does every day on the front lines and enables you to meet recipients of JUF agencies as well as JUF employees/volunteers.

Mitzvah Opportunities

In conjunction with JUF’s Tikkun Olam Network (TOV), coordinate special volunteer opportunities for groups of women are offered throughout the year.

View current mitzvah opportunities.

Outreach

Organize social gatherings at fun locations across the City to help build council membership.

  • Plan Tzedakah Committee events and education programs
  • Make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish United Fund - Israel Emergency Fund.
