Young Women’s City Council (YWC)
Mission
Our mission is to create and build a vibrant Jewish women’s community in the city of Chicago. Representing the Jewish United Fund, we offer educational and outreach programs, mitzvot opportunities and tzedakah events.
Young Women’s City Council (YWC) Pillars
Community Development
Assist with the coordination of Fall and Spring Insights along with the Event Committee.
Leadership Development
Focus on FLEX (Future Leaders Educational eXperience) programs and other leadership development projects.
Mitzvah Opportunities
In conjunction with JUF’s Tikkun Olam Network (TOV), coordinate special volunteer opportunities for groups of women are offered throughout the year.

Outreach
Organize social gatherings at fun locations across the City to help build council membership.
Tzedakah
· Plan Tzedakah Committee events and education programs
· Make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish United Fund - Israel Emergency Fund.

Mitzvah Opportunities
CJE Adult Day Care Services: Eleven women and eleven children assisted with a Thanksgiving craft project and entertained the clients with a cheerful visit.
ARK Hanukkah Gift Wishes: Over twenty families came to Little Threads to drop off their gifts, decorate holiday cards for soldiers and shop.
Tzedakah Events
2008 Parlor Event, celebrating women who give a gift of $750 or more in their own name with guest speaker, Alina Gerlovin Spaulding.

2008 Tzedakah Spotlight, celebrating women who give a gift of $365 or more in their own name with guest speaker, Dara Horn, award-winning novelist, essayist, professor and scholar.
