Mitzvah Opportunities

In conjunction with JUF’s Tikkun Olam Network (TOV), the Young Women’s City (YWC) Council will coordinate special volunteer opportunities for groups of women throughout the year.  Stay tuned for future projects.

Project:  Deliver Passover food packages
Date:   Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: An apartment building in the Gold Coast
Age:  Family friendly
Description:  Not everyone has the luxury of having enough money to buy the groceries that are necessary to celebrate Passover.  Assist in delivering food packages to Jews in need in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs so that they may observe the holidays in a traditional and dignified manner.  

Project:  JUF Uptown Cafe
Date:   Sunday, June 3 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Dina & Eli Field EZRA Multi-Service Center (909 W. Wilson Avenue, between Hazel and Sheridan) 
Age:  Children 12 and up are welcome
Description: Volunteers are needed to serve food and converse with guests at their tables. Space is limited.
