YLD Board Member Bio

Miller

Matthew Miller is serving his first year on the YLD Board. Matthew grew up in Glenwood, IL and currently lives in Lakeview East. Matthew graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010, with a bachelor's degree in Economics (High Distinction) and a minor in Business. Since graduation, he has worked at Capital One Financial Corporation, where he relocated to Richmond, VA and has since recently moved back to Chicago. In Richmond, Matthew was actively engaged with the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond (JCFR). He was a Director on the JCFR Board of Directors as well as the Chair of the Young Leadership Cabinet. Additionally, Matthew was honored with the Mark and Susan Sisisky Global Jewish Enrichment Fund Fellowship, which included a fully-funded mission trip to the country of Georgia through a partnership with the American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Richmond Jewish Foundation. Now back in Chicago, he most recently completed the LEADS LGBTQ program in spring 2015. As a new YLD Board member, he is excited to join in the Board's Annual Campaign efforts and LGBTQ outreach initiatives. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys Jewish learning, theater going and discovering new restaurants.
