YLD Board Member Bio
Samara Strauber is entering her first year on the YLD Board. Originally from Montreal, Canada, Samara came to the States in 2003 to attend graduate school at The University of Florida for Statistics. Upon completing her Masters, she worked in Tampa, Florida for three years as a biostatistician in clinical trial research and sat on the Young Adult Board of the Jewish Federation during her time there. Samara moved to Atlanta, GA in 2008 to work as a market research analyst for dunnhumby USA. While living in Atlanta, Samara regularly participated in social and volunteering events offered by the Jewish Federation's Young Leadership Committee group and served as one of the co-chairs of their annual big event in 2011. Since being transferred to Chicago with dunnhumby USA in March 2012, Samara immediately began to get involved in YLD by participating in and then leading LEADS, hosting a table at the Big Event 2012, and joining the Menches in Motion program. By joining the YLD Board, Samara hopes to help engage new Chicago transplants in YLD and develop additional programming for couples. In her spare time, Samara loves going to concerts, hosting get-togethers with friends, and exploring new cuisines with her fiancé.
