Programs
YLD is proud to offer a wide selection of social, educational and philanthropic programs. We have bar nights and happy hours at the hottest new venues in town, Shabbat gatherings for people of all religious affiliations, lectures on current event topics, networking events, volunteer opportunities, the Big Event (our premiere fundraiser) and co-ed softball during the summer.
See below for more details on YLD programming:
Gesher - YLD's year-long leadership development program focuses on forming a connection between participants and the organized Jewish community. The Gesher experience provides participants with advanced leadership skills, team building activities, a network of experienced colleagues, and opportunities to take their volunteerism and Jewish communal involvement to the next level.
LEADS – A unique series that attracts hundreds of young professionals each year by providing participants with innovative programming in a relaxed social setting. LEADS takes place over the course of eight sessions and offers an introductory exploration of the Jewish community and contemporary issues. LEADS groups (roughly 10-15 individuals) are formed in multiple areas of the city and participants are matched together based on age and location. After most sessions, all groups come together at a bar for a happy hour.
New to the Community - Are you new to Chicago or to YLD? We would like to invite you to coffee with a YLD Board member who can tell you more about the variety of programs and events we offer and connect you with other Jewish resources in the city. This is a great way to get started in the YLD community. Email yld@juf.org to set up a meeting!
Professional Networking - The Business Professionals Network (BPN) gives participants an opportunity to network with young Jewish Chicago professionals. These events are targeted towards people who would like to get involved from a professional perspective with activities including workshops, high-level speakers on current topics and business networking.
