Adam Goldberg

Adam Goldberg

Well, after you have made and starred in The Hebrew Hammer, the funniest Chanukah movie EVER (sorry, Mr. Sandler!), where do you go from there? How about starring in the best bar mitzvah movie ever, Keeping Up with the Steins! We made that one of our Movies of the Month!

Adam has also played Jewish characters more serious movies, like A Beautiful Mind, Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, and Mr. Saturday Night alongside Billy Crystal.

Some of his upcoming movies are Norman, about a kid who fakes having cancer and The Prince of Providence, about a guy (played by Robin Williams) who makes a comeback only to lose it all again.

Adam's projects also include Nancy Drew, about a teenage sleuth who was the inspiration for generations of crime-solving young women from Harriet the Spy to Veronica Mars. He's also in Miss Nobody, about an accidental criminal... Zodiac (with Jake Gyllenhaal ) about an intentional crinimal... and Untitled, which is about an art gallery worker who falls for a musician. No, seriously, the title is Untitled! Speaking of romance, he was in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with Kate Hudson.

Adam was also in the animal movies Babe: Pig in the City about a pig lost in a big city and Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco, about dogs and cats, um, lost in a big city. Too bad our four-legged friends can't use GPS!

Some of his latest projects deal with how the past affects the present. Deja Vu is a time-travelling thriller starring Denzel Washington. And in Two Days, a romantic comedy set in Paris, Adam tries to win his girlfriend back, but all her old boyfriends keep popping up. He should tell them to buzz off-- there's only enough room at the top of the Eiffel Tower for two!

On TV, Adam has appeared in EntourageFriends Will & GraceER, NYPD Blue -- all the way back to two hit shows from the 1980s, Murphy Brown and Designing Women.

Adam's career started in his living room, with his parents as his audience (give him a break-- he was only 6!), but by age 15, Adam was studying with Lee Strasberg's big-time acting studio (Strasberg's students included Paul Newman, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jane Fonda, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Dustin Hoffman)!

In his spare time, Adam listens to jazz records, plays guitar, and in his words, sometimes "just stares at the wall like everyone else."

Chanukah and Passover have to be the most movie-d of all Jewish holidays. Let's face it... would you see a Rosh Hashanah movie?

But Purim, one of the most fun Jewish holidays, has never had a major movie made about it until 2006! It's called For Your Consideration, and it's (of course!) one of our Movies of the Month!
