Provides subsidized, low-interest educational loans to students in the metropolitan Chicago Jewish community. First priority will be given to students who have limited access to other sources of funding, whether through federal, state or private loans, savings, or other sources of financial assistance. Made possible by a generous bequest from Mrs. Shirley Ehrlich to the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. Subsidizes the loan while a loan recipient is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. A loan recipient will make no payments nor accrue any interest on their loan while they are in school. A student may borrow up to $10,000 a year, up to a total of $40,000.
