Countering Anti-Israel Activity
IEC professionals and interns use proactive strategies to counter anti-Israel and antisemetic activity on campus. Since Hillel professionals are on-the-ground daily, IEC educators facilitate opportunities for Hillel staff to expand their understanding of best practices when it comes to confronting and countering anti-Israel activism. In addition, IEC trains our campus interns to build relationships with diverse student leaders, professors, and university administration.
IEC has emerged as a leader in combating BDS and other anti-Israel movements because our professionals realize that students come first. We do not push a particular agenda. Instead, we connect students to the appropriate resources and provide the support they need.
Each campus faces unique challenges around the delegitimization of Israel, ranging from bias in the classroom to apartheid walls and aggressive campaigns linked to the BDS movement. When anti-Israel activism comes to campus, IEC is there.
In-Person Support
IEC professionals will go to the campus to provide support and preparation for activities seeking to delegitimize Israel. We are available around-the-clock to assist students with campaign messaging, coalition building, and other strategic activities to combat BDS and other delegitimizing movements.
Community Engagement
IEC professionals engage the entire university community, from residence life advisors to faculty and chancellors before, after, and during anti-Israel activity.
Access to JUF’s Resources
Students and Hillel professionals facing anti-Israel campaigns have access to all of JUF’s resources, including Communications, the Jewish Community Relations Council, Security, and others.
