The European Union is facing an uncertain future with the rise of nationalist movements, populism, anti-Semitism, and anti-immigration sentiments. Join us as we discuss these issues and the Trump Administration's decision to withdraw from the JCPOA, with the consuls general of France and Germany.

Guest Speakers:

Consul General Guillaume Lacroix
Mr. Guillaume Lacroix became Consul General of France in Chicago on August 29th, 2017. He started his diplomatic career in 1997. He was assigned to the Department of African and Indian Ocean Affairs in Paris, then to the French Embassy in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and to the French Embassy in Washington.

From 2013 until 2017, he served in the cabinets of French Foreign Affairs Ministers Laurent Fabius and Jean-Marc Ayrault as Counsellor for African Affairs.

Consul General Herbert Quelle
Mr. Quelle has been the German Consul General in Chicago since July, 2014.

He began his diplomatic career in 1980. Mr. Quelle has served in missions throughout the world and in numerous positions in Berlin including as: Deputy Head of Mission, Havana; Head of Economic Affairs, Warsaw and London; Ambassador in Baku, and prior to Chicago, Consul General in Boston.
