National Museum of American Jewish Military History to honor Jewish fallen heroes of Iraq and Afghanistan

The National Museum of American Jewish Military History (NMAJMH) under the aegis of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA lists at present over 40 Jews who have given their lives in the defense of our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The National Museum of American Jewish Military History (NMAJMH) under the aegis of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA lists at present over 40 Jews who have given their lives in the defense of our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To honor these Fallen Heroes the NMAJMH is sponsoring the First Annual National Service Honoring the Jewish Fallen Heroes of Iraq and Afghanistan.  On this Memorial Day weekend, and hopefully countless Memorial Day weekends thereafter, we are asking all of the synagogues throughout our Nation at their Friday evening or Saturday morning Sabbath services, all of our echelons at their events, and all Jewish organizations to read the names of these Fallen Heroes in memorial.  The JWV will also sponsor the First Annual National Service Honoring the Jewish Fallen Heroes of Iraq and Afghanistan in Washington, DC, at the 6th and I Historic Synagogue, at 6:45 PM on Friday, May 27, 2011.

Below is a list of the Fallen Heroes that we are asking people throughout the country to present to their Rabbi, Executive Director, Post Commander, or Organizational President, and ask him or her to read with reverence on this coming Memorial Day Weekend.  Who other than the Jewish War Veterans and National Museum of American Jewish Military History is better suited for this honorable task?  In remembering the names of our fallen brothers and sisters we must succeed in honoring their memories in perpetuity.

For further information on this special project please contact Cheryl Waldman or Mary Westley at 202-265-6280.
