Yana Feyganova was born in Donetsk, Ukraine. She graduated with a BA in International Economy from Donetsk National University and a BA in Psychology from Donetsk Institute of Social Education, as well as an MA in Economics of Enterprise from Donetsk National University of Economics and Trades. During her student years she was very much involved in Donetsk's Jewish community and was a madricha at the Israel Cultural Center. Yana also participated in a Masa Israel Journey Program and completed Metsuda, a year-long Jewish Leadership training for youths.
Yana came to the United States in 2014 as a refugee, escaping the war in Ukraine. She became involved in Moishe House, RJD, and the Women's Board of the Chicago Veterans Association of WWII. Yana is an Assistant at a family office and loves organizing efforts to serve the community. When Covid began, Yana managed a face mask production team, providing 120,000 face masks for Chicago's most needed communities. When the recent Ukrainian war started, she coordinated efforts to provide about $2 million worth of gear and equipment for Ukrainian first responders.
