Samuel graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before traveling to Israel for a one-year teaching fellowship. In Israel, he developed a great sense of appreciation for the Jewish community. After coming back to the United States, he began working for the Jewish United Fund in the hopes of contributing to the growth and cohesiveness of the Jewish community in Chicago. Samuel also enjoys reading classical novels, swimming in Lake Michigan and hiking around the Midwest.
