Overview

Do you know an amazing teen who should be recognized as one of this year's 18 Under 18 Honorees?

Nominations are now open for this competitive award. Eligible teens have excelled in one or more of the following areas:
  • Worked toward inclusion of Jewish teens of all backgrounds, experiences and abilities
  • Prioritized raising money for tzedakah/charity or volunteering
  • Demonstrated passion for Jewish learning and practice
  • Motivated others to be involved in Jewish life
  • Created an initiative that works toward Tikkun Olam/repairing the world

Nomination Guidelines

  • Nominees should be current 9th-12th graders living in a county served by the JUF (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will).
  • Nominees should have participated in, or are currently participating in, a Jewish communal program such as camp, youth group, religious school, volunteer program, educational program, Israel trips, etc.
  • Nominators can be teens, Jewish professionals or community members. Nominations made by teens themselves or by family members will NOT be accepted.

Important Dates

  • Nominations must be received by 11:59pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
  • Nominated teens must submit their applications by 11:59pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
  • Selected teens are required to participate in a leadership program on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
  • Honorees will be celebrated at the Community Celebration on April 3rd, 2022, during which Honorees will share their Impact Projects with the community.
