Join us for YLD Mini LEARN: Torah in Dark Times with Base Logan Square. Together through the four sessions of this learning series we will reflect on the questions: When tragedy strikes how do communities and individuals respond? Together we will be learning from two different sources.
For the first two sessions we will be looking at Masechet Ta'anit, a tractate of the Talmud that deals with collective responses to ecological disaster.
For the last two sessions we will learn two different discourses from Aish Kodesh by Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapiro, also known as the Rebbe of the Warsaw Ghetto. Aish Kodesh is a book on the weekly Torah portion composed during Rabbi Shapiro's time in the Warsaw Ghetto before he was tragically murdered by the Nazis.
Come and explore these texts and questions together with Base Logan Square.
