Lianne is investing in the next generation of Jewish Chicagoans.

Her multiple board and leadership positions span from deep engagement with the Jewish Council for Youth Services to serving as a director on the Circle of Service Foundation board, which encompasses broad support for Jewish community programs in Chicago, Israel, and the former Soviet Union.

After earning her master’s in public health, Lianne coordinated clinical cancer trials. When she moved to Chicago, she joined the Vitality Group, a health tech company which uses data and science to help people make healthier decisions.

Eventually, she made the decision to step fully into the world of philanthropy to maximize her impact on others. As a family member and board member of the Circle of Service Foundation, she recognizes the privilege and responsibility she holds in repairing the world.

As a new trustee for the Jewish Women’s Foundation’s Health and Wellbeing committee, Lianne lends her program expertise to grant review.

“Lianne consistently shows up with curiosity, integrity, and a genuine desire to make the Jewish community stronger,” a friend explained.

A Jew who inspires you: My grandfather, Alvin Newman. After a successful career in business, he later became an active member of his retirement community, holding numerous board positions over 30-plus years, well into his late 80s. Between his hobbies, his friends, his board responsibilities and his family, he loved being busy and derived a huge sense of purpose from his various commitments.

How do you Jew in Chicago? Making challah is my love language. If you have something to celebrate, I’m showing up with my signature everything-but-the-bagel loaf with your name on it!

Your best piece of advice: Ski the snow in front of you.
