Alex is the Immediate Past Chairman of JUF's Russian Jewish Division Advisory Board and one of the founders of RJD. He is the first Russian-speaking member of the JUF Board of Directors and also serves on the Jewish Federations of North America National Young Leadership Cabinet. Alex was born in Leningrad in the Soviet Union and moved to Israel in 1990 with his family. After finishing his service in the Israel Defense Forces, he came to Chicago to attend college. In 2004, Alex graduated from DePaul University with a double major in Finance and Computer Science. Shortly after graduation, he was recruited to JP Morgan's financial analyst training program. In 2008, he was accepted to the University of Chicago MBA program, and in 2009, together with his brother Nik, he started the real estate company HAN Capital. That year, Alex co-founded the Russian Jewish Leadership Forum (RJLF) initiative, which later became JUF's Russian Jewish Division. Alex is very passionate about the Russian Jewish community. He hopes that his life experience and business and organizational skills can help RJD become a major pillar of the Russian Jewish community in Chicago.
