Benjamin Matsa

Junior, Evanston Township High School

Ben Matsa is a junior at Evanston Township High School and an alumnus of Chicago Jewish Day School. He is a co-leader of the ETHS Jewish & Israeli Culture Club, a member of the ETHS Holocaust Remembrance Week Planning Committee, a JUF Teen’s Voices board member, and NCSY leadership summit participant. Ben is also a weekly attendee at the Anshe Emet Rose Crown Minyan, and he bakes cookies for the Beth Emet Soup Kitchen. Ben created “kef4kids”, a business dedicated to connecting kids to Jewish life through sports, where he leads sports activities for b’nai mitzvah and birthday parties. Ben is passionate about economics and is dedicated to teaching financial literacy. He is the Vice-President of Rise Financial Literacy, a national organization providing free workshops for 700+ kids on budgeting, investing, and credit management. Ben also founded the Economics and Investing Club at ETHS, a series explaining financial topics for his school’s newspaper, and he has been recognized internationally at the John Locke Economics Essay Competition. Finally, Ben loves sports: he is the starting goalkeeper for his school’s varsity soccer team, and he works as a camp counselor at the city of Evanston sports camp.
