JoCI National Listening Tour in Chicago – June 28
June 28, 2026 • Sunday, 11:00 am - Sunday, 1:00 pm
In the midst of a national listening tour, Jews of Color Initiative CEO Ilana Kaufman is visiting communities across the country to engage in open dialogue with local leaders, grantees, partners, supporters, and community members. Through these conversations, JoCI aims to listen deeply, learn from regional experiences, and use the wisdom of community members to help inform the next chapter of the JoCI’s work to advance racial equity and strengthen the multiracial Jewish community.
Kaufman looks forward to coming to Chicago on Sunday, June 28, from 11am – 1pm. Registration info here: https://thejoci.org/event/joci-national-listening-tour-chicago/
“This tour is part of our commitment to build a vibrant, inclusive future for the Jewish community by centering the voices and experiences of Jews of Color,” said Ilana Kaufman, CEO of the Jews of Color Initiative. “These gatherings create space for sharing, conversation, and future gazing—helping JoCI align our regional and national strategies with the wisdom of the communities we serve.”
Each stop on the Listening Tour is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and imagine together—exploring how JoCI can continue to best serve local and national needs in partnership with the people the organization serves.
At each tour stop, Kaufman presents a state of the field and the JoCI, and facilitates an interactive communal conversation about where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going as a movement. Participants are invited to share experiences, insights, and innovations to help shape JoCI’s future efforts regionally and across the country.
