RJD Chanukah Experience

Get ready for Chanukah with a fun hands-on family experience! Parents and children will explore holiday traditions through three interactive activities:

1. Chanukah Decorations: Create festive Chanukah garlands from recycled household materials to decorate your home.

2. Chanukah Cookie: Make, shape and decorate Chanukah-themed cookies and learn a tradition you can continue at home year after year.

3. Tea Time & Traditions: Gather around a samovar to enjoy seasonal herbal tea, sufganiyot, and dried fruits while learning about Chanukah customs and stories.

Come make, bake, learn, and celebrate during a unique café experience led by Marina Bershedzky, founder of Pineapple Way, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Chicago’s homeless children and women gain access to healthy food and explore the culinary world through hands-on cooking classes and nutrition seminars.

This special event will take place in a real café setting, where children will have the opportunity to experience a professional kitchen environment while learning about Chanukah through creativity, cooking, and community. Perfect for children ages 5+ and their grown-ups.
