If there were such thing as a Jewish saint, Annie would be it. Called a "gem of a human being" by her colleague, Annie embodies the Jewish values of helping others. She has also helped countless children feel cared for, safe, and loved.

As a social worker at Northern Illinois University, she contracts with the Department of Child and Family Services to perform assessments to help reunify families separated due to neglect and abuse. Through her role, she guides families onto brighter paths, the catalyst for so many life turnarounds.

In the Jewish world, Annie serves as a synagogue inclusion coordinator, helping children with disabilities to feel supported and welcomed. In addition, Annie served as the staff social worker for a JUF IsraelNow trip in 2023.

Two years ago, as a registered foster parent, Annie opened her home-and her whole life-to twin brothers, now 13. They initially intended to stay for a short time, but the boys remain under her care to this day.
