It's an understatement to simply say Avery is committed to Jewish community and tikkun olum. When asked what he would do if time and money were limitless, he said, without hesitation, that he would devote his energy to Chicago Jewish nonprofits.

"I would help expand their programs and provide resources to ensure they can continue making a positive impact," he said. "My aim would be to strengthen and unite these organizations, fostering a thriving, supportive environment for our community."

He currently serves as Director of Development for Upward Community, an organization dedicated to supporting mental health services for children and teens in the Jewish community.

Outside of his day job, Avery is the Gabbai (synagogue official) at Congregation K.I.N.S. of West Rogers Park and sings in the Mesamechai Lev Orchestras.

Avery has held communal leadership roles since a young age. Inspired by his younger sister with special needs, he served as Co-President of Yachad's High School Leadership Board. He spent two years studying at Yeshivat HaKotel in the Old City of Jerusalem and earned his bachelor's degree from Hebrew Theological College at Touro University.
