Mensch. Leader. Big-hearted. Smart. Dedicated. Those are just some of the words used by the Rochelle Zell Jewish High School community when talking about its Director of Athletic and Facilities.

David has been with the high school for more than a decade and has established himself as a tireless advocate for his students. The Skokie native continues to look for ways to strengthen and innovate the athletics program. Under his leadership, the program has blossomed into more than a dozen sports across three seasons. He has developed a coaching philosophy that is rooted in the Torah's values-placing character, leadership, and teamwork first.

"David works 24/6 to help every member of our community feel safe, included, and special," said one of his Rochelle Zell colleagues. "He has the biggest heart and leads with kindness, [serving] as a role model for all of our students in the classroom, on the athletic field, in our Beit Knesset , and at our many Shabbatonim trips. Kids trust him and go to him with problems, large and small, and he counsels them thoughtfully and with care."

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 10 WORDS OR LESS:
Reliable, caring, selfless, respectful problem solver, and listener

A JEW WHO INSPIRES YOU:
My grandma. After I returned from a Birthright trip, she finally shared her story of life in the Minsk Ghetto and losing much of her family during the war. Through everything she had experienced, she created a better life and future for her kids and grandchildren. She is the reason I identify as a Jew.

YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
Spend your time and energy on things you can control. Controlling the controllables.

IF TIME AND MONEY WERE LIMITLESS, I WOULD:
After assisting those in need, I would purchase a professional soccer club and, of course, travel the world.
