Community is essential for Eliza. In fact, she helped to found the Jewish Ancestry Business Resource Group at her workplace, KPMG, to unify Jewish employees and allies. Hundreds of her colleagues have joined and through this group, Eliza and her colleagues have hosted events to educate and inspire others about Jewish culture and history.

As the incoming President and the past Vice President of the Jewish Women International's Young Women's Impact Network in Chicago, Eliza has developed a community of more than one hundred young women professionals in the city. Most recently, she planned a fitness event in collaboration with Sharsheret, where attendees came together to raise awareness for breast and ovarian cancer.

Eliza is also involved in YLD and attends events monthly, aiming to spread engagement among Jewish people in Chicago.

The Rochester, N.Y. native has pursued tikkun olam since she was a teen. In college, Eliza helped build a training program for refugee and immigrant entrepreneurs, and in high school she traveled with a group to India to build a school for young girls.

PRONOUNS:
she/her/hers

PRIMARY GIG:
Human Capital Advisory Consultant at KPMG

ON THE SIDE:
Traveling (I have been to 30 countries and counting), cheering on the Buffalo Bills, ranking new restaurants on Beli, reading, biking the lakefront path, and President of Jewish Women International Chicago Young Women’s Impact Network

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 10 WORDS OR LESS:
Empowering others with passion, creativity, and empathy.

A JEW WHO INSPIRES YOU:
Both of my parents, Pam and Neal Sherman, have taught me how to be a leader in the community in different ways. While my mom has taught me the value of being a visible leader (she’s an auctioneer for different organizations in our community), my dad has taught me how everyday kindness can really make a difference in the world around us. They are always giving back, trying new things, and exploring the world. They have imparted these values onto me, and I emulate them every day.

YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
Take things day by day (but still use a Google Calendar).
