As the third-generation leader of Fenceworks, Jake weaves together his passion for Jewish life and commitment to his family's business.
He is currently helping Keshet build its new Highland Park community center, which will feature play equipment built by Fenceworks. As a member of the Keshet Leadership Council, he supports the organization's mission to provide meaningful experiences and programs for people with developmental disabilities and special needs.
Jake is also involved with Experience Camps, offering transformative experiences for children who have lost a parent, sibling, or caregiver. Having lost his own mother at the age of 16, he is deeply committed to helping grieving children feel supported and understood.
"Jake sensed even as a teenager that he could honor his mother and move forward with his life, a major tenet of Judaism," his colleague said. "For Jake, this Yiddish phrase comes to mind: 'If you think good, it will be good.'"
From Hebrew school to his transformative journey on Birthright, Jake's Jewish values have always been a guiding light. In college, Chabad was a central force in his life at Miami University, which he credits for deepening his connection to the Jewish faith and heritage.

YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
“Never settle for the path of least resistance.” This is a quote from my late mother’s favorite song, “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. For me, the lyrics suggest that life is going to throw you challenges, it’s not going to be fair. To trust yourself and your values, and not always settle for the easy way out, and always do what is right and best for you, your family, and your community.
