When speaking about Randi, the word
hineni
comes to mind. "Randi is always there and it's never about her, but always about others," said her friend. "She personifies our Jewish tradition of resilience."
From an early age, giving back to the community mattered to Randi. From volunteering at a soup kitchen with her synagogue to organizing fundraisers to benefit Israel, she is passionate about serving the Jewish community. For Randi, Judaism is a way of life. This has guided her throughout both her professional and personal life.
As Founder and Lead Dietitian at Randi Karlinsky Nutrition-a nutrition counseling private practice with a holistic approach to food, nutrition, and overall health and wellness-she approaches her work with understanding and empathy. With more than half of her clients managing gastrointestinal issues, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and infertility, she draws upon her own health journey with infertility to provide the best comprehensive care.
AGE:
35
PRONOUNS:
She/her/hers
PRIMARY GIG:
Owner and Lead Dietitian of Randi Karlinsky Nutrition
ON THE SIDE:
Mom of two little girls (I could argue this is my primary gig!). I’m also a bit of a gym rat, love taking long walks, having dance parties with my girls, playing around with new recipes in the kitchen, debunking the latest Tik Tok “wellness” trends, going out to dinner with friends, enjoying sports, and reading.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 10 WORDS OR LESS:
Strong, passionate, honest, empathetic, and loyal to a fault.
SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:
I was a cheerleader/dancer for the Chicago Sky, Chicago’s WNBA team.
A JEW WHO INSPIRES YOU:
My mom, Lori Komisar. Her love for the Jewish people, Israel, and those who are differently abled is (almost) as deep as her love for her children and grandchildren. I admire her passion, work ethic, determination, and how she wears her heart on her sleeve. My mom has taught me what it means to find strength in hard times, even when life feels impossible. She has always led by example, shaping me into the woman and mom I am today.
YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
It’s ok to not be ok. Life is hard and there are seasons that will challenge you in ways you never expect. Asking for help is a sign of strength and in our Jewish community, there is always someone ready to lend a hand.
