Chances are, if you've attended a Jewish young adult gathering in Chicago lately, Adam was there to greet you. As the former YLD Pride Chair and former YLD Board President, Adam warmly welcomes every person who comes through YLD's doors-and strives to help each of them find their Jewish home.

When recently elected YLD President amidst rising antisemitism, he said these inspiring words about the honor: "No one of our generation has witnessed the level of antisemitism that we've seen [recently]. I'm not discouraged, though, because I know that I'll never have to face a challenge alone. Our community is full of courageous and passionate leaders, and 39 of them will serve on the board with me."

Along with being an ambassador to Jewish Chicago, Adam is also a champion of the LGBTQ+ community who is the founder and president of Chicago's chapter of Queers Against Antisemitism, a movement of LGBTQ+ activists who have pledged to take a stand against antisemitism. He is also a member of the JUF Israel and Overseas Commission.

HOW YOU JEW IN CHICAGO:
Constantly and proudly! From Shabbats to happy hours and so much more, I attend a Jewish event or meeting pretty much every day of the week.

A JEW WHO INSPIRES YOU:
My Grandma Trena. She was a force of nature who'd never take no for an answer, unless that's the answer she was going for in which case she wouldn't take yes for an answer. While she was in hospice care, she grabbed my hand, looked me in the eyes, and said, "Adam, when it comes to my eulogy, make sure it’s very long." Because of her, I'll never settle for less than I deserve. And yes, my speech was very, very long.

YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
Dive head-first into everything you do, but don't bite off more than you can chew. Better to leave a legacy by doing one thing extremely well than be remembered as a person with potential who stretched themselves too thin.
