On May 5, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and the Jewish Federations of Illinois will sponsor a Statewide Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Old State Capitol Building, 5 th & Adams Street in Springfield, Ill. This event is held at the conclusion of the Government Affairs Committee’s State Advocacy Trip. Speakers will include, for the first time, a Holocaust survivor from the former Soviet Union, a member of the Jewish Legislative Caucus, and the Governor.
