IRA Charitable Rollovers

A convenient way to make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish community is through your IRA. If you are 70½ or older, an IRA charitable rollover, also known as a qualified charitable deduction, is a way you can help continue our work and benefit this year.

• Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $105,000 from your IRA to our organization

• Reduce potential estate and income tax

• If you are over 72, it will fulfill your required minimum distribution

• Help further the work and mission of our organization

1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us.

2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.

3. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

You may make a one-time election of up to $53,000 for a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust. You may not take advantage of the IRA charitable rollover for gifts to a donor advised fund or supporting foundation. If you wish to make a gift to either a donor advised fund or supporting foundation using funds from an IRA, the distribution must be recognized as income, and then you may take a charitable deduction for the gift.

We recommend consulting with your financial advisor or accountant to determine the best course of action for your personal situation.
