Lewis Summer Camp Intern Program
The Lewis at Camp Program was developed in partnership with JCC Chicago to provide returning Apachi Day Camp and Sunrise Day Camp staff with professional development and internship experience while working at day camps.
Program Structure
Interns work full time at their camp barring bi-weekly seminar sessions, that will take place either at the JUF, or the JCC – dependent on the interns camp placement. Supervisors have agreed that Lewis @ Camp Interns are allowed to leave camp to attend seminars.
Seminar topics from previous years included but were not limited to:
- Building your Professional Brand
- Networking and LinkedIn
- Current Trends in Successful Resumes and Cover Letters
- Mock Interviews
- Transferring camp skills to professional
Application Process
Interns must first be hired through a participating Lewis at Camp day camp.
Interns are selected to participate in LSIP from camp staff leadership and directed to complete the online application form. Applicants will only be considered if they are nominated by their camp staff leadership. External applicants will not be accepted.
All interns that are nominated by their camp, complete the online application form, and fit all eligibility requirements are accepted into the program. The Lewis @ Camp Coordinator will then schedule a brief call to review program expectations.
