JUF’s Jewish Community Relations Council

About Us

As the umbrella body for 43 major Jewish organizations in the Chicago area, JCRC serves as the instrument through which the organized Jewish community collectively makes policy on the shared agenda of its constituent members.

JCRC is involved in issues of concern to the Jewish community, including Israel, international affairs, interfaith and intergroup relations, antisemitism and anti-Israel activity.

The Domestic Affairs Commission concentrates on the Jewish community’s national and local agenda, focusing on such issues as voting rights, the separation of church and state, hate crimes, gun safety, and community violence in Chicago. The JCRC combats antisemitic activities and advocates on behalf of local Jewish individuals and institutions that have been targets of anti-Semitic bias and harassment. In addition, JCRC supports the Federation’s work for strong well-resourced health and human services sectors.
