“Todah Raba for creating a meaningful way to connect with my child as we grow in our Judaism together.”
JUF Young Families brings families together to explore our traditions, celebrate holidays and milestones, build community and work toward a kind and just world. From celebrating new parenthood, to sending out free Jewish books and music, to gathering together for volunteer experiences, we are committed to helping you find your village within Chicago’s Jewish community.
Our community is diverse….and we are better for it. Whether you light candles each Friday night or Judaism is a newer part of your life, our offerings are open and accessible. We believe that in today’s world, Judaism has something beautiful and relevant to enrich our parenting – and our lives. And we believe that each family has something meaningful and special to share with the community.
You can find us in play spaces, synagogues, grocery stores, Jewish preschools and living rooms – all around the greater Chicago area. We look to rabbis, parenting experts, musicians, educators, artists, community leaders and each other to enrich us and help us grow to be the parents – and grown-ups - we want to be.
Take us up on our offer to grab a cup of coffee and welcome your new baby with a gift from our community. Let us send your family free Jewish books or a voucher to help with your first year in a Jewish early childhood program. Come out and meet us at a holiday event or family volunteer opportunity and meet other new parents in your neighborhood.
Your family belongs here. We invite you to grow with us.
