JNew to Two (or More!) Moms Group

Tuesday, October 29, 2019 9:45 AM - Tuesday, December 3, 2019 11:15 AM <Add to Calendar>

With the birth of each baby we become “new” mothers all over again, making both literal and figurative space for another infant as we adapt to the changing dynamics of a growing family. The JNew to Two (or More) Moms Group provides an opportunity for mothers who have recently welcomed their second (or third, fourth, etc.) baby to share openly about the rewards and challenges of caring for multiple children, while also enjoying protected time for self-care and bonding with their newborns. Professionally-facilitated weekly discussions help spark meaningful connections between participants while addressing relevant topics such as infant care, supporting older children as they transition to big siblinghood, meeting the needs of kids at different developmental levels, appreciating each child as an individual, and recalibrating the balance of parenthood, work and relationships within our evolving identities. This group is for mothers with their newborns ages 0-6 months and welcomes women from both Jewish and Interfaith families.

Sunday School Try Out at Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation

Sunday, November 3, 2019 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM <Add to Calendar>

(Recurring Weekly on Sunday, between 9/22/2019 - 5/3/2020)

Are you thinking about how to expose your children to Jewish culture and identity? Your family is welcome to ‘try out’ our Sunday School with your child joining their grade’s class for the day. Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation holds weekly Sunday School classes for students in 1st through 10th Grade Confirmation. Each class has a well-defined curriculum, covering topics in Jewish history, literature and culture. We encourage children to value their Jewish identity and to think for themselves. Our whole school -- students, teachers, and families -- come together to celebrate Jewish holidays as well as for special programs on Jewish culture, community service activities and more. Everyone is welcome at our events so you can meet us for yourself — no charge and with no expectation of a commitment. Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation celebrates Jewish identity and culture by replacing worship with a belief in human responsibility and equality – for us, it’s about people, not prayer.
