“Voice of Love” Charity Concert

Tzu Chi Foundation USA will be sponsoring a “Voice of Love” charity concert in Chicago McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage on September 11, 2008. The concert will feature the world-renowned Israeli singer, David D’Or and a famous Taiwanese singer, John Yin. As passionate humanitarians, the two singers from different parts of the world will sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace.

David D’Or graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music. He has won numerous awards in the competitions within Israel. In addition, he represented Israel to sing in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. David is a singer, instrumentalist, as well as a brilliant composer.  He was invited to perform for the Pope in Vatican City, and specifically, he composed a song for the 20-year service celebration for the Pope. Most recently, David was invited by the monarchy in Thailand to perform at their 60-year anniversary for the reign of the king.

David D’Or has been greatly influenced by Master Cheng Yen’s wisdom and deeply touched by Tzu Chi’s humanitarian efforts across the world. These experiences have inspired him to write song such as “Like a Garden”, “We Are Family”, and “Living with Love.”

Although David is notable for his unique tone and range, moreover, his compositions reflect his compassion and love toward the environment and all living beings. His beautiful voice connects the souls of human beings in the world, bringing love and compassion with him everywhere he goes.

This September, David D’or and John Yin will go on a music tour to sing for the music lovers in the USA. The cities they will visit on this tour include New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, New Jersey and Washington DC. This is an event of the year that you don’t want to miss.
